I like to make. This just about sums me up. Well, I also have a daughter and a husband who are like a dream come true for me! I am truly blessed and I feel grateful for everyday that we can have together. But back to the making part...
I LOVE to make. Making makes me happy. Through my twenties I experimented with a variety of mediums, but I never commited myself to any one of them. In the Fall of 2005 I began making masks. My inspiration came largely from the people around me. Many of my friends are very creative and masquerades and Halloween are a natural place for this creativity to abound. My very first mask was made of wire and beads- a handheld masks that had the shape of the cateye glasses from the 50's. However, having worn various styles of mask myself I wanted to create a mask that was first and foremost, comfortable to wear. My masks are hand beaded on silk or brocade fabric. They are extraordinarily comfortable to wear! The style of these are really based on couture fashion. All details are hand stitched - the masks are built to last and to be handed down to sons and daughters of the next generation. September/October wil see a new series of masks available for the Masquerade season.
